Emma Haigh
Emma states she has too many years of experience but is still learning!
She has her BHSII certificate and has recently topped this up with a British Dressage UKCC qualification and having trained with some of the best dressage and jumping riders she loves helping people build an understanding relationship with their horse so that they can follow their dreams whether it be with flatwork or jumping
Emma is the chief instructor for the North Northumberland Hunt Pony Club and teaches regularly for the riding club usually based at Etal or Marygold
She also finds time to compete her current horse at Advanced Medium dressage
Karon Carson
Karon brings a wealth of experience to her coaching, having worked within the industry for over 40 years. She spent several years as an international groom and young horse rider producing event horses for international and Olympic riders before returning home to run her own yard and continue developing young horses. A qualified BHSII SM, British Eventing Development coach and UKCC level 2 coach, she also has a strong competition background having won 2 Scottish dressage titles and 2 Scottish eventing championships, giving her a deep practical understanding of training, competition preparation and and rider development. Karon's clinics cover flatwork, pole work and jumping and are suitable for riders of a wide range of levels and experience. At the heart of her coaching is the development of rider confidence, mindset and understanding. Karon works with each horse and rider partnership as an individual helping riders build technical skill, self belief and a stronger more effective connection with their horse.
Andy Miller
Andy is a British Horse Society Accredited coach, Stage 3 coach in Complete Horsemanship and Stage 4 Teaching and Stable Management. She is also a retired British Dressage list 5 judge.
With over 40 years experience in teaching Andy is passionate about improving confidence and increasing the rider / horse bond through correct training whilst keeping it fun
She currently runs a livery yard near Greenlaw where she has been for 30 years and this is where her training sessions are based
Aimee Gardiner
Aimee brings a wealth of experience to her coaching having previously worked as a pupil for renowned riders Joseph Murphy and Ron Brady before going on to run her own yard in East Lothian.
She has successfully competed in British Eventing and British Show Jumping, worked with Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) and continues to enjoy training and competing with her own horses.
Aimee runs a variety of clinics across Central Scotland including flatwork, pole work, jumping and cross country. Her sessions are suitable for riders of all levels and are hugely popular thanks to her encouraging , confidence building approach.
With a supportive and positive coaching style, Aimee helps riders develop both technical skills and self belief, making her clinics rewarding for both horse and rider
Henny Walker
Henny is a professional 4* event rider dedicated to producing and competing horses at a high level.
Alongside her competitive career she is passionate about coaching riders of all ages and abilities, helping them gain confidence, refine their skills and achieve their individual goals through supportive and effective training
Henny is based at her own yard in Duns where she has a large outdoor arena for lessons
Alison Robertson
Alison has many years of experience teaching riders of all ages and abilities including over 30 years educating horse care students at Borders College.
Her latest venture is in the discipline of Working Equitation, a relatively new sport to Scotland which involves 3 phases, dressage, ease of handling test and a speed round
The ease of handling is a set of obstacles which can be completed in hand or ridden so suitable for everyone to have a go, educate your horse and have fun
She is happy to encourage everyone to learn more about this and runs sessions at Etal and Nenthorn
